Cassava Chips

Components
  • 4 yams (approximately 500 g)
  • oil as desired
  • Add salt and ground pepper gradually to achieve the desired flavor.
Setup phase
  1. Heat the oven to 180 °C (moderate temperature). Grease two large baking trays with olive oil.
  1. Remove the skin from the yams, wash them, and thoroughly dry with a clean dish towel to prevent slipping while slicing. Use a mandolin (vegetable slicer) to cut the yams into thin strips, or alternatively, slice them thinly with a knife.
  2. Arrange the slices in the baking pans side by side, ensuring they do not overlap. Drizzle with a bit more olive oil and season with salt and ground pepper to taste.
  3. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 10 minutes, until they turn brown and dry. Take them out and allow to cool, as the chips become crispier once cooled. Repeat the process with the remaining pieces.
