Components
- 2 cups of unshelled raw peanuts
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- Two tablespoons of turmeric
- One teaspoon of coarse ground salt per dose
- Add salt and ground pepper as desired.
Setup phase
- Set the oven to 180 °C (medium heat) and allow it to warm up.
- In a bowl, combine the peanuts thoroughly with oil, turmeric, salt, and pepper, ensuring every peanut is coated with the spices. Using ground salt helps achieve a crisper texture over time (if desired, you can use refined salt).
- Spread the tempered peanuts evenly on a large, shallow baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Every 5 minutes, open the oven and shake the pan or stir with a spatula to ensure even baking.
- Take the baking sheet out of the oven and allow the peanut to cool fully before serving or storing.
NOTE: Peanuts stay crunchy for up to 15 days when kept in an airtight container.
